Welcome

We are a friendly patchwork and quilting group, who meet on a Monday afternoon at:

GORSE HILL COMMUNITY CENTRE

from 1:30pm – 3:30pm, and sometimes all day. We have guest speakers and occasional workshops.

We are a self-help group who enjoy making and creating all kinds of lovely things for ourselves and for charity. In the past, we have made several items, including: hospital bags, Blankets of Love and Linus quilts for needy children and young adults.

Poppydown Quilters’ Day 2024

Once again our Quilters’ Day was a resounding success.

We had a captivating talk from Yvonne McAtamney about her Japanese quilts.

Thanks to all our members who looked after the stalls, tables, raffles and the kitchen and to all who worked in the background, donated and generally supported the day.

Thanks also to the two traders who drew a lot of interest – we hope your stashes are now a bit bigger than they were.

Congratulations to Jean Stanton who won the prize quilt’

The money raised was shared between our two charities Tiny But Mighty and Swindon Women’s Refuge.

(26 March 2022)

Hello Ticketholders

We are looking at the upcoming Quilt Day in the light of ongoing Covid.
We appreciate that there are still worries about gatherings in an enclosed space and are waiting to see what Government regulations and the Centre requirements are.

Because of that we are asking all ticket holders to contact us with their name, ticket Number, current contact details and if they still intend to attend.

Please email our treasurer on: jansens@btinternet.com on phone on 07941588283.

Thanks
